Early Taxco sterling silver and copper repousse necklace in a design based on an original creation by Margot de Taxco and the Los Castillo taller. Heart-shaped links embellished with semi-spheres, beading and scroll work come together to form a veritable “mixed metals” classic.
Very well made and exceptionally comfortable to wear…
Size/Weight: 16 1/8″ long (wearable; actual length is just shy of 16 1/2″ – easily lengthened with the addition of a sterling extension) by 3/4″ wide; 49.5 grams
Hallmarks / Date: simply marked “STERLING TAXCO”; 1940s
Condition: excellent vintage with patina to die for and very well crafted; there is one tiny, pin prick impression in one of the copper domes, very difficult to spot and definitely not detracting from the necklace’s beauty
SOLD – Thank you!
