An early design by the Los Castillo taller, the fish skeleton is considered a classic and has seen many emulations and reproductions over the years. The hinged bracelet at hand, wrought out of thick silver sheet with copper bead accents, is a modernist treasure that was made for small wrists. Ideal for all of us who love vintage Mexican clampers but can never enjoy them because they are usually too big…

 

Size/Weight: 5 3/4″ inner circumference; width between 1 7/8″ (at the front) and 3/8″ (at its narrowest, on the side); 62.5 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s signature as shown alongside Eagle 15 assay mark and des. no 114; 1950s-60s

Condition: excellent vintage with great patina, having a strong, snappy hinge, with good heft and in a very slick, mod design
