splendid Deco Mexican silver and amethyst Necklace ~ early pectoral with dangle

Generous in length yet still very gracious in its proportions the early Mexican Deco silver and amethyst necklace presented here is perfect for those of us who love pectorals yet prefer them to be more modest than their often exuberant repousse counter-parts. Carefully hand-cut and chased the silver sheet forming the necklace’s body is adorned with semi-spheres and boasts three luscious oval cabochons and a smaller one nested in the playful dangle. The stones have natural fissures and clouding for which Mexican amethyst is known and their color variation is a feast for the eye…

 

Size/Weight: 21″ in wearable length (adjustable due to the hook clasp; can be easily shortened by simply having some links removed from the chain); pectoral part is 3  3/4″ wide with a drop of approx. 3″; chain is 5/8″ wide; 71.3 grams

Hallmarks / Date: simply marked “SILVER MEXICO”; 1930s-40s

Condition: excellent vintage with very good workmanship, generous in length and having good weight, with luscious stones and impressive presence
