rare DORIS Deco MEXICAN Silver BRACELET CORPUS ARTISAN repousse CUFF

on Apr 21, 2014 in archived

A retailer in Cuernavaca, according to Bille Hougart, Doris probably commissioned work from several maestros yet jewelry bearing her signature does not surface very often. When it does, however, it is usually spectacular – like the cuff presented here. Co-signed “Corpus Artisans”, its repousse is immaculately executed, dramatic, perfectly finished and beautifully oxidized. I find the combination of fern, floral and stylized fleur-de-lis motifs quite successful and cannot get over the patina the bracelet has developed over time.

Museum quality and one of the best cuffs I have seen lately…
