19″ early Mexican Deco silver Necklace, repousse graduated semi-spheres

on Sep 24, 2018 in Mexican and Latin American, Necklaces

I am thrilled to be presenting here an early Mexican Deco silver necklace comprised of graduated repousse semi-spheres. Yet please believe me when I say that this is not your usual “bead” genre piece! Curvaceous, chunky links; generous length that can be added to, if needed; patina that glows with the warmth that only well-loved, well-taken-care-of silver develops over the decades and a design that is timeless in its appeal. Got to love it…

Size/Weight: 19 1/4″ long (wearable; laid out flat it’s probably 19 1/2″); width between 1 1/8″ at center front and 13/16″ at the back; 91.0 grams

Hallmarks / Date: simply marked “SILVER MEXICO” albeit only part of the upper end of “MEXICO” can be seen; 1930s

Condition: excellent vintage, very strong visually and quite architectural, with beautiful patina and no damage or repairs noted; there is the most imperceptible impression on the side of one semi-sphere but it is not easy to spot and does not detract from the necklace’s curvaceous beauty

Offered at $450.00
