Stunningly beautiful and quite bold in its proportions this Antonio Pineda .970 silver and velvet pendant necklace is inspired by cave drawings of pre-historic hunters like the ones in Lascaux. The massive axe-shaped pendant wrought employing the “shadow box” technique showcases slender black figures during the tense hours of a long ago completed hunt. The luscious velvet cord that complements it has hand-hammered arrow head tips at either end. Superb…
Size/Weight: 27″ long (from arrow-head end to arrow-head end); pendant is 5″ wide and adds a 2 1/2″ drop to the cord; 105.4 grams
Hallmarks / Date: fully hallmarked with Antonio’s crown signature, des. no YY 581, Eagle 17, 970 SILVER and HECHO EN MEXICO; 1960s
Condition: excellent vintage with no damage or repairs noted, stunning presence, the velvet cord as good as new and nice patina; the little silver pin that closes the hole through which the hammered arrowheads are secured to the velvet cord is missing in one of them – the cord is very securely attached and there is no fear of losing anything but I needed to mention it here
