Early Mexican Deco 980 silver brooch housing a big, richly colored azurite stone, I believe that this is a Taxco piece and it is simply stunning! Very much in the archeological style that was prevalent in the first decades of Mexico’s 20th c. Silver Renaissance, it combines wire- and scroll-work with oxidation and repoussage in a design that is an ode to geometry itself. I am very partial to brooches and this is a big, showy piece yet at the same time it has a classy elegance that will never go out of fashion…
