Classic Mexican silver necklace and earrings set following a similar Margot de Taxco’s design inspired by pre-Colombian motifs, this demi is signed by a listed yet still unidentified Taxco maestro. Longer than most Mexican necklaces of the period and hence very comfortable and easy to wear, it consists of stylized feather and repousse semi-sphere links and with the matching earrings, it looks fabulous…
Size/Weight: 17 1/2″ long by just shy of 1″ wide for the necklace; earrings are 1 3/8″ long by 5/8″ wide; 73.5 grams (for the demi; 66.5 grams for necklace only)
Hallmarks / Date: maker’s initials “A.S.” as well as “TAXCO MEXICO 925” and Eagle 1 assay mark on the necklace; earrings have alpaca screw-backs (the rest is sterling silver) and are marked as such; 1950s-60s
Condition: excellent vintage, classy as can be, perfectly finished, with no damage or repairs and gorgeous patina
