One of Taxco’s foremost modernist designers, Enrique Ledesma is a master when it comes to setting gems against oxidized, minimalist backgrounds and the hinged bracelet at hand proves the veracity of my assertion. Open-backed topaz and color-change sapphire, one of each, seem to float on a silky gris-sourris platform drawing attention to their strong color and to the asymmetry of the design…

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s signature as shown in straight capital letters as well as “TAXCO 925”, “HECHO EN MEXICO” and Eagle 3 assay mark; 1960s

Condition: excellent vintage with yummy stones, offering the added security of a safety chain
