Erika HULT de CORRAL MEXICAN Silver RING mod RIC Taxco design with CHRYSOPRASE

One of the few female Taxco designers – at least among the maestros that we know about – Erika Hult de Corral studied at the Parson’s School of Design in Paris and worked for both Ledesma and Sigi Pineda before opening her own workshop. The ring at hand is, I believe, an original Sigi creation probably from the time that de Corral was working in his taller. Its fluid, mod lines and the big chrysoprase stone centering it draw the eye immediately and hold it captive effortlessly…


Size/Weight: sz 6 (yet resizable); face is 1  1/8″ by 13/16″; 15.5 grams

Hallmarks / Date: de Corral’s signature “Ric” in script as well as “”TAXCO SA”, STERLING”, des. no 805 and Eagle 3 assay mark; 1960s-70s

Condition: excellent vintage in a very impressive design, beautiful, big stone and no flaws noted
