Francisco Rivera Mexican long silver dangle Earrings

on Apr 15, 2018 in archived

Vintage Mexican silver long earrings bearing the signature of accomplished Taxco maestro Francisco Rivera, this set is inspired by ancient motifs as is much of Rivera’s “archeological period” jewelry. We don’t really know much about maestro Rivera yet his work is of the highest quality and his designs are quite often truly inspired and original. Here he employs motifs that were also used by Spratling to create a magical pair of earrings, cleverly articulated, with seamless overlay, dramatic oxidation and a playful little spherical dangle to add airiness to the design…
