Matching the modernist bracelet that is also available on my site (you can get a glimpse of it in one of the photos above) this set of mixed metals Jose Luis Flores dangle earrings is based on an Aguilar design. Seamlessly articulated with hidden rivets the three oval disks that form each earring are cut out of sheets with good thickness and have acquired a warmly glowing patina over their long life. Easy to wear and quite contemporary in their look, they were converted from screw-backs to posts at some point so Flores’s signature is gone. I have, however, added photos of the hallmarks on the matching bracelet and of the set together to support the attribution…
Size/Weight: 1 1/2″ long by 11/16″ wide; 15.9 grams (for the set)
Hallmarks / Date: “.925 MEXICO”; no maker’s initials (they were probably on the original screw-backs that were removed) yet the matching bracelet is fully signed as you can see in the relevant photos; pre-1948
Condition: excellent vintage with a slick, contemporary look, great patina and no damage or repairs; please note that the set was converted from screw-back to posts at some point in its life
SOLD – Thank you!
