Los Ballesteros Mexican silver hinged Bracelet with simulated alexandrite gems

on Dec 3, 2019 in Bracelets, Mexican and Latin American

Masters of the hinged bangle bracelet, the Los Ballesteros workshop created some of the most amazing designs I have seen in that form. Usually impressive in size and weight, they house beautifully cut gems or polished hard-stones and the can range from complex to absolutely minimalist. The “three gems and beading” bracelet I am presenting here I have sold in the past and am elated to have found another one. The gems are synthetic corundum, otherwise known as color-change sapphire, and quite often also referred to as simulated alexandrites because they change color under different light conditions. Please note the hefty crown settings, the flat beading around the gems enhanced by shadowbox oxidation and the magnificent, silky patina the piece has developed over the years…
