One of my favorite Margot de Taxco all-silver designs, the beaded, undulating links of “5247” exude an unsurpassed sense of motion and their architecturality is only enhanced with patina as the years go by. The bracelet and matching earrings set at hand is a find for the collector – especially since the bracelet is not an easy piece to come upon. And it’s a pleasure to wear…
Size/Weight: 6 3/4″ inner circumference (clasped) by 7/8″ wide (at its widest) for the bracelet; 7/8″ by 13/16″ for the earrings; 81.1 grams (for the set; bracelet alone is 68.7 grams
Hallmarks / Date: maker’s signature as shown on the bracelet as well as “STERLING MADE IN MEXICO” and des. no 5247; the matching earrings have Eagle 16 and des. no only; 1950s
Condition: excellent vintage with substantial presence, patina to die for and simply a pleasure to wear; there are a couple of very light, superficial nicks in the earrings’ beads but the are almost indiscernible to the naked eye and definitely don’t attract attention when you have the set on
