Early Mexican Deco silver repousse “palomas” hand mirror wrought in the Mexico City style associated with Matilde Poulat and her workshop. I love the patina this little treasure has acquired over its long life – it is so dark and intense, it makes the mirror look like it has escaped from an ancient fairy tale to adorn our modern reality. Nice detail in the repoussage of the two birds, sweet little turquoise cabs and pyramid-cut amethysts stand out against the darkened silver. Whether in your handbag or on your vanity, this is a miniature work of art…
