Mexican Deco silver and amethyst Necklace ~ scrumptious Taxco repousse

on Jan 31, 2018 in archived

Vintage Mexican Deco silver necklace comprised of repousse links adorned with amethyst cabochons, this is an anonymous beauty with striking presence and generous length. Sometimes found with the signature of maestro Horacio de la Parra, if I am not mistaken, the specific design dates in the early decades of Mexico’s 20th c. Silver Renaissance and there is something primordial about its appeal. Gorgeous patina and strong repoussage add dimension to the necklace which, combined with the cloudy purple and lavender depths of the stone, create a feast for the eye…

PS: The matching bracelet is also available – as you can seen in one of the photos – and will be listed shortly.
