A set of drop-dead early Mexican Deco earrings in a repousse “door-knocker” design with teardrop dangles, this pair is signed by a listed maestro most of whose work is based on Margot de Taxco and / or Los Castillo designs. Possibly somebody who worked in either one or both of those talleres, I can tell you by experience that his jewelry is always impeccably finished and though lighter than their “big name” counterparts, invariably of very high quality…
Size/Weight: 2″ long by 1 3/8″ wide; 17.8 grams (for the set)
Hallmarks / Date: maker’s initials “APA” as well as “HECHO EN MEXICO 925” and “TAXCO STERLING”; 1940s
Condition: excellent vintage with a silky patina as you can see in the photos and no damage or repairs noted
