monumental Mexican Deco silver and amethyst Bracelet

on Mar 7, 2018 in Bracelets, Mexican and Latin American

Early Mexican Deco silver bracelet, this is a piece most probably made in Mexico City and a double version of the often-referred to as “owl and bead” motif. A classic design for the period, I have had examples of it in all forms and configurations, with various stones or all-silver, and I was never disappointed in its visual impact. Especially in our case, in which bold proportions elevate the bracelet to the level of veritable statement-making jewelry…

Size/Weight: 7  1/2″ long (yet keep in mind it will probably wear as a 7″ to 7  1/4″ bracelet due to the big links) by 2  1/4″ wide; 110.5 grams

Hallmarks / Date: simply marked “SILVER MADE IN MEXICO”; 1930s

Condition: excellent vintage with stunning proportions, very good weight and nice stones; great patina and no damage or repairs noted
