In emulation of a Margot de Taxco design, a vintage silver and black enamel necklace signed by Narvaez. I am familiar with the specific maker’s Deco jewelry yet I had never seen an enameled piece by him before! Based on a difficult to find (at least in my experience) Margot original, I love the sweeping motion of the stylized feathers and their generous size. A stunning piece…
Size/Weight: 17 3/4″ long (wearable); feathers part is 4″ wide by 2 1/4″ tall; width at the chain is 3/8″; 67.3 grams
Hallmakrs/Date: maker’s name as shown as well as “TAXCO MEXICO 925” and “STERLING”; no Eagle mark that I can find so could this be a 1945-1948 piece? one of the first experimentations with enamelwork in Taxco?
Condition: excellent vintage with very strong presence, beautiful workmanship and no problems with the silver nor the enamels – simply gorgeous
SOLD – Thank you!
