Deco Italian 800 silver lipstick cases in a style popularized by the Peruzzi and Coppini Bros, each one adorned with faceted gems or glass cabochons, these are a must-have for every discerning lady’s pocket book! Hand-engraved and having their own little mirror that flips open when you pull the lipstick out, they were all the rage in the Deco years and one of those mementos you needed to bring back from a trip to Italy. Size/Weight: height between 2 1/4″ (for the carnelian glass one) and 2 1/8″ (for the amethyst and two garnets piece); width between 3/5″ and 5/8″ (same correspondence as with the height); weight between 38.8 grams and 34.4 grams (same correspondence as with height)
Hallmarks / Date: all are hallmarked “800” for silver content and have various maker’s marks as well; 1920s-30s
Condition: excellent vintage with gorgeous patina, beautiful stones or glass cabs and quite elegant; the green Peking glass cabochon is missing its mirror (you can however see yourself reflected on the polished silver quite nicely); the mirrors on the other two are in very good shape with minimal clouding, if any
