Stunning Antonio Pineda modernist bracelet, this is one of the designer’s most creative pieces, I believe, for the incredible way he combined angularity and curvature. The bracelet’s commanding presence is enhanced by the juxtaposition of high purity silver and caramel-hued inlay, the marriage enhanced by warm patina. Not a very easy to find bracelet and a great example of Taxco modernism…
Size/Weight: 6 3/4″ inner circumference (clasped); width 7/8″; 103.8 grams
Hallmarks / Date: fully and appropriately signed with Antonio’s crown mark, “970” and Eagle assay mark (probably 208); mid- 1950s-1960
Condition: very good vintage condition with no repairs noted, fantastic looks and the inlay all secure in its setting; a couple of the panels have a small flake off one corner but those are rather shallow and don’t really attract attention nor affect the bracelet’s beauty
