Early 20th c. silver gilt figural necklace, this is a piece out of the luxurious tradition of Austro-Hungarian jewelry. Old, mature gilding with faux pearls, chrysoprase cabs and emerald green glass gems add to the elaborate figural and foliate links. Size/Weight: 16 1/2″ long (wearable); central station is 2″ wide by 1 1/2″ tall; 45.8 grams
Hallmarks / Date: not marked for maker nor hallmarked for metal content yet tested and guaranteed to be silver of at least .800 purity; 1910s-30s
Condition: excellent vintage with beautifully mellowed gilding, great stones and no unsightly damage or repairs noted though I have to mention that the necklace is probably missing that would have been dangling off the central station; I am assuming it broke off or was lost a long time ago yet even with the loss, this is still a gorgeous piece
