Rare as can be Los Castillo cuff bracelet in sterling silver repousse with a warm copper overlay. A double-wide version of the taller’s des. no 909, I am not sure if this was a custom-made piece or an experiment. Either way here too the fusion of silver and copper proves one of the best marriages in silversmithing. And, of course, this being a Los Castillo work, it is characterized by workmanship of the highest level, perfect finishing and gorgeous design. Fall and winter colors galore…
Size/Weight: 6 3/4″ inner circumference (including the 1 1/8″ gap; I wouldn’t recommend trying to adjust it since it’s a repousse piece); 1 5/8″ wide; 51.1 grams
Hallmarks / Date: taller’s name and “TAXCO” alongside des. no 909 – there is an additional mark there but badly stamped, probably designating the specific material combination; not hallmarked for metal content but tested and guaranteed of sterling quality at least; 1940s
Condition: excellent vintage with patina to die for, a stunning combination of materials and workmanship and no flaws noted
SOLD – Thank you!
