Very nicely made Rivera Matl-esque silver ring in the classic jeweled Maltese cross design, this is a piece that dates in the pre-1948 period and the quality of the stones, the tight setting as well as the careful wirework closely resemble Poulat’s own creations. I particularly love the turquoise cabs as they range in color from almost sky blue to sage green and the patina that has darkened the recesses even rendering the design more dramatic. If you are going to only wear one piece of jewelry, then a ring like this it should be…
Size/Weight: sz 6; face is 1″ in diameter; ring rises approx. 5/8″ off finger when worn; 10.7 grams
Hallmarks / Date: maker’s signature as shown as well as “HECHO EN MEXICO.” and “925”; 1940s
Condition: very good vintage with excellent craftsmanship, great patina, all its stones present and accounted for, securely set in their bezels and channels; there is one tiny little chip off the corner in one of the amethyst stones, where it slides down into the bezel; it is not easily noticed and does not affect the ring’s presence at all but I wanted to mention it anyway
