Dancing to the sound of an invisible mariachi band this flamboyant, vivacious Mexican Deco couple is a classic brooch design for the period. One can find several versions of it, quite often with turquoise, but most are smaller and not carefully cast. We usually see them separated from each other, still dancing but each one to their own, solo tune. This time, however, I would love them to stay together as they obviously were meant to be. Size / Weight: 2 5/8″ tall by 1 7/8″ wide (for the female figure) and 3″ tall by 1 3/4″ wide (for the male dancer); 49.6 grams (for the set)

Hallmarks / Date: both marked “SILVER MEXICO”; pre-1948

Condition: excellent vintage with great patina, good definition in the casting and wonderfully green cabs (some kind of agate or even chrysoprase, maybe?), with no damage yet with replaced pins on the back as you can see
