A rather rare Sigi Pineda ring, this is a bold, generously proportioned piece that combines sterling silver and stone, I believe jasper or some kind of agate. Dramatic angles and overlapping layers combine to create a striking modernist design – the color of the stone, however, milk chocolate brown with specs of black, is my favorite element here. I also find the open shank construction quite clever since you can adjust the ring’s size according to need…
Size/Weight: sz 6 (adjustable); face is 1 3/4″ by 1/2″; 9.7 grams
Hallmarks / Date: maker’s signature as shown above “Tasco” as well as Eagle 3 assay mark; 1960s
Condition: very good vintage, quite a statement-making piece with generous proportions, great patina and an adjustable shank; there is a very very small pop off the matrix at the tip of the stone that is literally negligible; it does not attract the eye and is very hard to spot unless one knows about it
