slick Mexican silver modernist hinged Bracelet, Taxco two spheres design

on Oct 10, 2018 in Bracelets, Mexican and Latin American

I absolutely adore this design and I can assure you that when you have it in your hands, you will too fall in love with it! An early Mexican modernist creation here in the form of a hinged bangle, I believe it’s the curvaceous, bold and definitely sexy repousse spheres applied on its face that make it so attractive. Similar pieces are often found with the signature of Gonzalo Moreno yet this seems to be an anonymous beauty even though there seems to be a very small part of another word above the “MADE IN MEXICO” hallmark. The bracelet is, however, made of thick gauge sterling which has protected the spheres from getting damaged over the its long life. Be bold and bring it home…

Size/Weight: 6 3/4″ inner circumference (clasped); width between 1 1/2″ in the front and 5/8″ in the back; spheres are just shy of 7/8″ in diameter so that is how high they rise from the bracelet’s surface; 71.7 grams

Hallmarks / Date: “MADE IN MEXICO” and “SILVER”; pre-1948

Condition: excellent vintage with beguiling, strong presence, definitely different, with nice patina and no damage or repairs noted
