Fantastic late 1960s – 1970s, I believe based on style, modernist sterling silver and ribbon long cascading circles collar necklace signed by Niels Erik From of Denmark. Scandinavian jewelry is one of my favorite genres – I love the slick, innovative design, the bold minimalism and the “honesty” of materials used so I am always on the look out for good examples. The collar necklace at hand is a stunning creation with its four sets of tangent circles cascading down the collar bone, hanging off an ax-form station at the top. The sterling component is presently accompanied by two lengths of cream-colored ribbon that tie at the back of the neck yet those can easily be changed for black velvet or whatever it is you like. Very unusual and quite a rare necklace by From to come upon – and from what I understand, this type of collar necklace is really really popular again…
