Sweetest ever “siesta man” Mexican Deco silver perfume bottle, all complete with its dauber and the green glass cone that tops the tired campesino’s sombrero. I love these little “needful” things – perfume bottles, hand mirrors, lipstick cases – especially the figural ones, all wrought in silver and adorned with stones, glass, enamel or engraving. Even if you don’t use them for what they were intended for, just displaying them on your vanity and waking up to their sight every morning will make your day all year round…
Size/Weight: 1 1/2″ tall by 1″ wide; 9.9 grams
Hallmarks / Date: marked on the rim of the bottle’s body as shown yet badly so that it’s unreadable to my eyes; in my experience most of Mexican perfume bottles of this type were made by ORMEX so it’s very likely that this is the maker here as well; pre-1948 as I don’t see any Eagle mark (usually they are stamped on the dauber)
Condition: excellent vintage with great patina (you could buff it up a little, if you wished), with its glass sombrero tip intact and having the most wonderful emerald green color, with the dauber in great shape and no residual aroma (I think the bottle was never used), having no damage and no repairs noted
SOLD – Thank you!
