Mexican Deco silver and amethyst beaded hinged Bangle Bracelet

By in archived |

If you follow One Good Eye Silver, you probably know that I am for ever in love with these Mexican Deco hinged bangle bracelets that are made up of rows of repousse semi-spheres, their front wing being overlaid with small cabochons in bezels. Usually “anonymous”, they feature turquoise or amethyst most of the time, like here, but I have seen them with green “onyx” glass and even black onyx. In the last few years they seem to have become not as easily available as in the past so I am thrilled to be offering this beauty tonight. Four rows of silver beads, two rows of amethyst cabs in the front only, fantastic patina, timeless elegance…   Size/Weight: 6 7/8″ inner circumference (clasped); 2 3/16″ inner diameter; 1 1/4″ wide; 58.7 grams Hallmarks / Date: “STERLING MEXICO”; 1930s-40s Condition: very good vintage with all the...

Deco Doris Mexican silver mixed metals Dangle Earrings

By in archived |

One of the most interesting examples of Doris jewelry I have found, this Mexican Deco pair of early pre-Colombian style dangle earrings is a “mixed metals” set and it has all the bells and whistles that Doris jewelry is sought after and collected for. The workmanship and the design bring to  mind similar pieces by Francisco Rivera – perfect layering, great attention to detail, and a design that points at Mexico’s rich past albeit with a modernist twist to it…   Size/Weight: 1  1/2″ long by 1  1/16″ wide; 10.8 grams (for the set) Hallmarks / Date: taller’s signature as shown as well as “SILVER MEXICO”; pre-1948 Condition: excellent vintage with just the perfect length, amazing patina and no damage or repairs noted     SOLD – Thank you! big Parra Mexican silver and blue agate Dragonfly Pin Brooch

By in archived |

A book-piece design, this big dragonfly silver and agate brooch bears the signature of Horacio de la Parra, a maestro whose work has never disappointed me in its quality of materials and level of craftsmanship. A not-so-often found brooch, the example at hand is even more unusual because of the almost robin’s egg blue color of the stones… Learn more Size/Weight: 3  3/8″ wide by 2  1/4″ long; 15.6 grams Hallmarks / Date: maker’s signature as shown as well as “HECHO EN MEXICO D.F. 925”; 1930s-40s Condition: excellent vintage with great patina and no flaws noted SOLD – Thank you!
