Peruzzi style Italian silver Medieval Revival figural Pendant Necklace

By in archived |

Early 20th c. Italian silver pendant necklace in a figural Medieval Revival design, this is a piece made in the style associated with the Peruzzi and Coppini Bros yet bears no maker’s signature. Usually drawing inspiration from Baroque or Renaissance art, this type of Italian jewelry was very popular with young ladies on their Grand Tour and brought back either as mementos of travel adventures or as gifts for the less fortunate ones who did not get to go. In this case, however, the scene is Medieval in its subject matter showing a knight and lady on horseback. In my eyes, they look as if they are eloping yet it’s probably my romantic streak that has taken over. Last but not least, I would like to draw attention to the wonderful dangles and the exceptionally well-cast links of the chain; there are several designs combined here in graduated sizes – even the hook of the...

27″ Peruzzi style Italian Deco silver Renaissance Revival cross Pendant Necklace

By in archived |

Bold and just so nicely cast with an ornate, big cross pendant that boasts beading and oxidation, this is a vintage Deco Italian Renaissance Revival necklace in the style associated with the Peruzzi and Coppini Bros. Albeit not signed for maker this is such a well made piece that I wouldn’t have been surprised had I seen the Peruzzi name on it. Even the pendant’s back is embellished as you can see in the photos. And what about that amazing chain? Long, with many interesting beads and decorative flat links, it is meant to be pulled over your head but a jeweler can easily add an appropriate spring ring clasp so you can use it with your other vintage pendants…   Size/Weight: pendant is 3″ long (without the big round bail) by 2 1/2″ wide; with the bail it adds a 3 5/8″ drop to the chain; chain itself is 26 3/4″ long; 46.3 grams Hallmarks /...

Peruzzi style Italian Deco 800 silver North Wind Pendant Necklace, ornate chain with beads

By in archived |

A beautifully made Italian Deco 800 silver pendant necklace in the style associated with the Peruzzi and Coppini Bros, this is an anonymous beauty yet its high quality and very good finishing attest to its makers prowess in the art of jewelry making. The long, ornate chain is made up of alternating floral and fleur-de-lis links that are interrupted by faceted black glass beads. The same beads dangle off the crisply cast pendant with the face of the North Wind (sometimes also called the Green Man) surrounded by beading and unfurling stylized leaves and feather motifs. Attached to the chain with a big spring ring, it is easy to disconnect it and enjoy the chain alone or pair it with another pendant of the same genre…   Size/Weight: chain is 31 1/2″ long by 3/8″ wide (width of the fleur-de-lis links); pendant is 4 1/4″ long by 2″ wide and adds a 4...
