Victoria Mexican mixed metals Necklace ~ rare Taxco modernist design

on Apr 16, 2018 in Mexican and Latin American, Necklaces

A superb Victoria Mexican necklace out of Ana Nunez de Brilanti’s “metales casados” line, this piece made me gasp when I first saw it! I don’t think I could ever exaggerate the slick elegance of the necklace – minimalist yet still allowing for the musical dangling of the traditional cascabeles. Fantastic patina, the easiest clasp in the world when it comes to necklaces (it clasps in the front, as you can see), amazing craftsmanship.

Size/Weight: 15  1/2″ inner circumference (clasped); width between 1  1/2 (in the front, including the dangle) and 1/2″ on the back; 77.6 grams (on a postal scale)

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s signature as shown as well as “MEXICO TAXCO”, “STERLING”, Eagle 12 assay mark and des. no 215; 1950s

Condition: excellent vintage with stunningly beautiful presence, patina to die for, no damage or repairs noted, fantastic design and craftsmanship
