A stunner early Deco Flli Coppini 800 silver necklace, this is not only holding a St. George slaying the dragon pendant – its chain is also adorned with a multitude of figural charms. Combinations like this are very hard to find and as the example at hand is wrought in .800 silver, it dates most probably in the pre-1934 period, when the sterling standard had not yet been adopted by the Italian authorities…
Size / Weight: 27 3/4″ long (for the chain); pendant is 2″ tall (with bail) by 1 7/16″ wide; adds a 2 1/4″ drop to chain; 82.8 grams
Hallmarks / Date: maker’s name and logo as shown as well as “800” and “MADE IN ITALY”; pre-1934
Condition: excellent vintage with no flaws noted, great patina and strong presence; I believe the spring ring of the clasp is a later replacement yet it is also marked “STERLING”
SOLD – Thank you!
