vintage Mexican Deco silver and turquoise multi-row beaded Bracelet

on Jan 26, 2015 in archived

Vintage sterling repousse Mexican hinged bracelet with rows of silver semi-spheres and turquoise cabs, this is a classic Deco design and one of the most enduring early Mexico City creations. The example at hand is what I would consider the “medium width” version of it comprised of four rows of silver half-beads alternating in the front with rows of smaller beads and bezel set stones. The back is all silver…

Size/Weight: 7″ inner circumference (clasped) by 1  1/8″ wide; 41.7 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s initials “BGM” as well as “”HECHO EN MEXICO D.F. 0925”; 1930s

Condition: excellent vintage with beautiful color in the stones and the added security of a safety chain; there is one semi-sphere in the uppermost row that has a small, shallow impression but it’s expected with this type of bracelet and not offensive at all to the eye
