vintage Mexican silver articulated Necklace ~ Taxco neo-Aztec layered design

Vintage Mexican sterling silver necklace in a very interesting, layered neo-Aztec configuration, this is one of those pieces whose impact is strongest when you have it in your hands. I was always skeptical about this specific design – until I received my first example of it, a poison ring. And I fell in love with the complexity of composition, the mutliple techniques used to craft it, and the slick modernism that pairs wonderfully with the pre-Colombian elements…



Size/Weight: 15″ inner circumference (clasped; may even wear a little roomier); central station is 3  3/4″ wide and drops approx. 1  7/8″; 75.1 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s initials “VOO” as well as “MEXICO 925” alongside Eagle 3 assay mark; 1950s-70s

Condition: excellent vintage with great patina, its oxidation in very good shape and no damage or repairs noted
