Vintage Mexican silver repousse clamper bracelet in a classic fern design, this piece with its dramatically twisting tips was not made in Taxco, as is the norm, but in Iguala, one of the country’s big silversmithing centers. This specific version of the fern is a favorite of mine because of the powerful sense of movement it exudes and the fleshiness of its repoussage. Size/Weight: 6  3/4″ inner circumference (yet it can easily fit bigger sizes due to its hinged construction); width between 4″ in the front and 1″ next to the spring; 64.4 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s initials “VHE”, “STERLING 925 IGUALA MEX” and Eagle 5 assay mark; 1950s-60s

Condition: excellent vintage with very good craftsmanship, great patina, perfect finishing and no damage or repairs noted; the spring is tight with no sign of looseness to it
