This pair of first period William Spratling Mexican silver earrings was reportedly referred to by him as “lace moon” and it is one of the sweetest sets he created, in my opinion. The repousse semi-sphere centering them glows with the warm patina of time as it sits nestled in the looping wirework. Nothing fussy, nothing excessive yet such a classy pair…
Size / Weight: 1 1/16″ by 3/4″
Hallmarks / Date: marked as shown with a combination of hallmarks dating the set in the 1940-44 period
Condition: very good vintage with fantastic patina, no damage or repairs noted except for a light impression in one of the “moon” semi-spheres; not offensive as it escapes detection most of the times!
