Portuguese silver repousse architectural hinged Bangle Bracelet

Made in Porto as is indicated by the hallmarks it bears, this vintage sterling hinged bangle is adorned all around with a repousse architectural design. Crisply rendered, the motifs are easily readable to the eye and the juxtaposition between raised surfaces and recesses enhances the bracelet’s sculpturality. Definitely comparable with similar pieces by Portugal’s celebrated makers like Topazio and Safir, this is a piece worthy to be worn alone but it is equally enjoyable in a stack as you can see in one of the photos…

Size / Weight: 7 1/4” inner circumference (clasped) by 7/8” wide; 32.5 grams

Hallmarks / Date: hallmark for Porto as well as metal purity for .916; “STERLING”; marks for maker as well but I was not able to identify them; ca 1950 to be on the conservative side (the specific marks were in use between 1938 and 1984)

Condition: excellent vintage with an eye-catching, beautifully rendered design, with no damage and no repairs noted
