Topazio Portuguese silver "crown" hinged Bangle Bracelet

I am very partial to hinged bangle bracelets - you get the best of both worlds with them! - and I am very attracted to the Portuguese repousse examples. Signed by Topazio, the country’s foremost manufacturer of silver holloware and decorative items, there is something quite “regal” about this piece. Surrounded by scrolls and foliate motifs the dominant design here is a royal crown. It is repeated in all eight facets in high relief and looks even more sculptural thanks to the patina that has darkened the silverwork’s recesses. Perfect to wear alone, it lends itself marvelously to being combined with other bracelets as well - take a look at the last photo for similar pieces available in my inventory…

Size / Weight: inner circumference of 6 7/8” (clasped) by 1” wide; 33.8 grams

Hallmarks / Date: company’s name as well as “PORTUGAL” with hallmarks for date and metal quality which are not clear enough for me to read; I will say that it’s at least .833 silver if not sterling; as to date, I will suggest around 1950 to be conservative

Condition: excellent vintage with a striking design, great patina, beautiful workmanship and no damage or repairs noted
