1960s/70s Polish .800 silver Pendant Necklace

$0.00
SOLD

The vintage silver pendant necklace at hand was presented to me as of Mexican origin and looking at the form and the design, I wouldn't say it could not be that. Yet its hallmarks indicated it came from the opposite side of the world, from Poland, and it is wrought in .800 silver. I don't know certain as to how to describe its style - it is not exactly a modernist piece but it is not "traditional" in the "clean" meaning of the term either. In fact, though its pierced spherical pendant brings to mind antique pomanders and I could see the chain hanging off an Edwardian gentleman's watch, there is a certain slickness to it, an aura that feels so much more contemporary. Be that as it may, this is a little gem of a necklace, easy to wear and perfect to add to your neck-mess...

Size / Weight: 19 1/2" long (for the chain); pendant adds a 2" drop; sphere diameter 5/8"; 17.7 grams

Hallmarks / Date: Polish hallmark for .800 silver as shown; 1960s-70s

Condition: excellent vintage with beautiful patina, nicely made and perfectly finished, easy to wear and a pleasure to behold, with no damage and no repairs noted
