30" vintage heavy silver twist-rope Chain Necklace

$0.00
SOLD

I am partial to long chain necklaces - irrespective of origin and style I am attracted to them and love to wear them. Provided, of course, they are older… The thick twist-rope example offered here is, I believe, a US-made piece; the hallmark looks familiar, I know I have encountered it before but right now I just can’t identify the maker. My failure notwithstanding, this is a luxurious, beautiful chain with a warm patina that accentuates each strand of silver wire as it embraces and twists around the ones next to it. Nice length, nice weight, what else could one ask for?

Size / Weight: 30 1/4” long; 1/4” wide (the rope’s diameter); 57.1 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s logo as shown as well as “STERLING”; difficult to date with accuracy but I will suggest 1960s-70s?

Condition: excellent vintage, heavy and luxurious, with a length that lends itself to combinations with other similar pieces, with beautiful patina and no damage or repairs noted
