Abraham Paz Mexican Deco silver and obsidian Bracelet

$0.00
SOLD

Abraham Paz is that amazing designer behind some of the most recognizable Mexican Art Deco beauties, many of which you have probably seen bearing Fred Davis’s hallmarks. Paz’s jewelry epitomizes the period’s love for clean geometric motifs and minimalist renderings of the human figure. In this stunning bracelet layered rectangular silver frames house the most magical pieces of obsidian I have seen. Notorious for being very hard to carve, the obsidian is so clear and translucent, you can easily see through it when you hold the bracelet against the light…

PS: The narrower version of the design shown in one of the photos is also available in my inventory - please ask if you don’t see it listed here

Size / Weight: 7 1/8” long (wearable) by 1 3/8” wide; 67.0 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s initials “AP” in impressed letters as well as “STERLING MEXICO”; 1920s-40s

Condition: very good vintage with stunningly beautiful obsidian panels, lean and mean silver work, great geometry and nice patina; one of the bezels is missing a very small part of it but the obsidian is still very secure in its place, absolutely stable with no fear falling out
