Cecilia Tono Mexican silver and tiger's eye band Ring

$0.00
SOLD

Glistening caramel golds and molten browns dominate in this Cecilia Tono Mexican modernist bang ring. This is one of my favorite Taxco collaborations - the jewelry that came out of it slick and inventive with the highest quality of craftsmanship and the best of materials. There is nothing excessive about this ring - except maybe the heftiness of its oxidized setting - yet it immediately attracts the eye and holds the gaze captive with its liquid warmth and its generous width…

Size / Weight: comfortable sz 6 US (not resizable); 3/8” wide; 8.5 grams

Hallmarks / Date: signed with both Cecilia’s and Tono’s name alongside initials “AC”, “STERLING MEXICO” and “TAXCO 925”; pre-1948

Condition: very good vintage with gorgeous colors in the stone, its oxidation in good shape, generous in width and weight, with good patina and no damage noted except for a very small, very superficial nick in one of the horizontal pieces of tiger’s eye (you can see it in the photos but it does not register to the naked eye)
