Deco carved Chinese amethyst Necklace and long Earrings set
Continuing in the … amethyst vein I started a few days ago but from a completely different part of the world today, I am presenting this elegant Deco set of pendant necklace and long, dangle earrings. Adorned with antique Chinese pieces of carved amethyst, the demi boasts classic for the period gold-plated findings and an elegant chain. I love the variations in color and the inclusions in the stone as well as the contrast between the sculpturality of the peach pendant with its “rose” bead and the flat panels of the earrings with their fruit and foliage…
Size / Weight: 19 3/4” long (for the necklace); pendant adds a 2” drop and is 7/8” wide; earrings are 2 1/4” long by 5/8” wide; 16.8 grams (for the set: 10.3 grams for pendant necklace and 6.5 grams for earrings - FYI only since there is no precious metal here)
Hallmarks / Date: not signed; 1920s-30s
Condition: excellent vintage with beautiful carvings in the amethyst, interesting color variation and inclusions in the stone elements, elegant findings and a beautiful chain, with no damage and no repairs noted except for the possibly replaced spring-ring on the necklace
