early Mexican Deco silver and turquoise hinged Bangle Bracelet

$0.00
SOLD

I don't use the term "rare" very often when presenting my jewelry yet in this case, I just had to! Because this specific version of one of my favorite designs, the multi-row repousse semi-spheres hinged bracelets usually adorned with turquoise cabs, is indeed very very difficult to come upon. What elevates the bracelet at hand above and beyond other similar examples is the sheer size of the repousse semi-spheres that make up its two "wings". Big, bold and beautiful, their voluptuousness enhanced by oxidation and the patina of time which contrasts with the vivid turquoise cabochons, these rows of half-beads are a collector's dream come true. I love the early pin closure and the warm glow of the all-silver back. A precious, stunning find...

PS: I have added a group photo showing the bracelet with similar piece so you can see the difference in the semi-spheres size I am referring to

Size / Weight: 7" inner circumference (clasped) by 1 1/2" wide; 58.8 grams

Hallmarks / Date: "MEXICO SILVER"; 1920s-30s

Condition: very good vintage with deep, warm patina, its oxidation working wonders with the pieces sculptural appeal, all the turquoise cabs securely in place without issues, with no unsightly damage or repairs noted but having two or three dents in the semi-spheres which are almost always present in bracelets of this type
