elegant Mexican Deco silver roses Lariat Necklace / Brooch

As 2022 reaches its end I am happy to present the second combination brooch / lariat necklace I was lucky enough to happen upon this past year. Lariat necklaces are not unheard of in Taxco jewelry yet to find an example that consists of the long chain with its figural ends together with the matching brooch used as a “slider”/clip is not a common occurrence. And even though the example I had presented earlier had its brooch permanently fixed to the chain, this beauty is different and will allow you to customize the way the lariat looks - you may even wear the chain necklace or the brooch as separate, individual pieces. Size / Weight: lariat is 30" long (end-to-end, including the rose ends); brooch is 2 3/4" by 2 1/2"; 50.3 grams (for the combo)

Hallmarks / Date: “TAXCO MEXICO 925”; 1930s-40s

Condition: excellent vintage, very romantic and beautifully made, with a silky, satiny finish to the silver, the patina you want to see on a well-loved, well-taken-care-of piece of jewelry, with no damage and no repairs noted
