Enrique Ledesma Mexican silver and sapphire Bracelet

$0.00
SOLD

A true maestro when it comes to combining silver with faceted, brilliant gems Enrique Ledesma is the creator of this modernist Mexican hinged bangle bracelet. Ledesma set three color-change sapphires against a glistening sterling frame here but I have also had one or two similar pieces in which the silver had been oxidized. Held in place with prongs, the stones are open-backed allowing the light to play its luminous games and coax different colors out of the stones. I love the geometry of the bracelet itself, the deep valley running its length at mid-width turning the surfaces into mirrors that enhance the sapphires’ beauty…

Size / Weight: 6 5/8″ inner circumference; width between 1 3/8″ and 1/2″; 55.9 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s signature as shown as well as “HECHO EN MEXICO”, “TAXCO 925” and Eagle 3 assay mark; 1950s-60s

Condition: excellent vintage with gorgeous gems, beautiful patina and no damage or repairs noted
