Etruscan style silver and chrysoprase festoon Necklace

Characterized by granulation and delicate wire-work and, of course, the tell-tale little “floret” appliques, Etruscan style jewelry has enjoyed an exceptionally long-lived popularity. Pieces were made (and are probably still being crafted today) all around the Mediterranean yet I think that this restrained “festoon” necklace is probably European - Italian or maybe even Greek? Graduated in size its silver elongated pyramidal links hold lusciously green chrysoprase stones and are connected with silky lengths of “floret” link chain. Timelessly elegant and such a treat for the eyes…

Size / Weight: 17 1/2” long (wearable); width between 2” and 1/2”; 67.2 grams

Hallmarks / Date: not signed for maker nor hallmarked for metal quality yet tested and guaranteed to be solid silver of at least .800 purity; difficult to date with accuracy but I will suggest post-1960 to be on the conservative side

Condition: excellent vintage, smooth and silky, with all its florets in place and gorgeous stones, free of damage and repairs
