late Victorian / Edwardian silver vermeil hinged Bangle Bracelet

$0.00
SOLD

Profusely decorated with hand-etched scrolling foliate motifs against a cross-hatched field, this silver vermeil hinged bangle bracelet is elegant and luxurious at the same time. I believe it dates in the late Victorian / early Edwardian period and it has been lovingly cared for, if condition is our criterion. What I particularly love about this piece is that the decoration spills over into the back "wing" on either side and that its gilding has mellowed over the years and lost the harshness of brand new gold...

Size / Weight: 6 3/4" inner circumference (clasped; oval in shape thus more comfortable to wear); just shy of 1 1/2" wide (including the rows of tiny beading); 29.8 grams

Hallmarks / Date: "WARRANTED STANDARD SILVER"; 1890s-1900s

Condition: excellent vintage with rich yet not overpowering decoration, its gilding in great shape, with the beautiful patina of well-loved, well-cared for jewelry, and no damage or repairs noted except for a couple tiny tiny little pinprick impressions on the back panel which are expected and do not even register to the eye
