"Le Pietre nell' Arte" Italian silver pietra dura Pin Pendant

$0.00
SOLD

Owned and operated by the Scarpelli family in Florence, Italy, "Le Pietre nell' Arte" gallery specializes in the art of "pietra dura" jewelry and larger works of art. Accompanied by its original box, the combination pin / pendant at hand, its vermeil finish still glistening as if it came out of the shop just yesterday, is a small treasure made by one of the family's maestros. Seamlessly inlaid in a black (onyx?) background hard-stones in blood red, crocus yellow, various shades of green and white come together like pieces of a divine puzzle to create the image of a floral bouquet with a glorious tulip at its center. The gilded sterling frame with its elegant twist-rope accent reflects the yellow in the stone and focuses the eye on the vibrant composition...

Size / Weight: 1 5/8" by 1 5/16"; 11.2 grams

Hallmarks / Date: "925" as well as hallmark for Florence and maker; the business was founded in 1972 so I will suggest 1980s-1990s or a bit later

Condition:
excellent vintage, probably hardly ever worn, exhibiting craftsmanship of the highest level, with no damage or repairs noted; kindly be advised that the gallery name on the original box which will accompany your purchase has become a bit more worn since I took the photo which shows it with the brooch
